Improving Virtual Collaboration - Managing the Motivations

Event Description

Looking together at the positive and negative motivations people bring to collaboration, and how to structure and manage virtual collaborations to build on the positive motivations and resist/rechannel the negative motivations. We'll use the unconference chatroom to work together. Please look at the 8 minute introductory video before the session! (Sound is a little up and down in the first minute or so, but then get better)

I am curious how structures, processes, attitudes allow us to engage and then retreat once and a while - it seems we should allow for different rhythms in collaboration, which may be very personal? How to coordinate these? perhaps virtual work is particularly suited...

In the video recognize some thoughts on collaboration stated in the book "Collaboration" by Morten Hansen. (Factors that prevent collaboration)  For me an inspiring book.

David, what an inspirational topic! What about adding social structures, social settings and learned behaviors to your list of factors that prevent collaboration. Cannot wait to experience more on Saturday.
